East West Rail

Further public consultation is taking place on the East West Rail upgrade. This is the line that passes through Fenny Stratford and Bletchley to Bedford in the East and will go to Aylesbury, Bicester and Oxford in the west with connections onward. Paper copies of the consultation document are available for viewing at the Town Council offices in Queensway or will be available on-line from 30/06/17 here www.networkrail.co.uk/east-west-rail There will also be events you can visit. Local to us are Tuesday 11th July 12.00 to 20.00 at Scots Social Club, Selbourne Avenue, Bletchley, MK3 5BX and on Monday 17th July 15.00 to 19.00 at Newton Longville Village Hall, 2 Paradise, MK17 0AQ.

What do you want from this service? Would you like faster service trains to stop in Fenny Stratford? The present outline plan suggests users of Fenny Stratford station would have the present slow service to Bletchley and Bedford but would have to change at Bletchley for faster trains. What are the plans for the Simpson Road level crossing? Will the line be duelled through Fenny Stratford? Now is your chance to put forward your ideas. If you want to influence the thinking on any of these matters then please do so. The consultation ends 11th August 2017.
