The Friends Of Fenny Stratford
Fenny Stratford Walks: - The group maintains the two way-marked walks under the heading of ‘Fenny Feet’. Fenny Feet was an idea put by a local artist, Nick Packham who is based at the Tecton Gallery in Church Street: There is a shorter blue route around central Fenny Stratford and a longer Green route through the Linear Park. The guides can be downloaded if you follow the link at the top of this page. We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the route and signage. If you are a regular walker of these routes or parts of them please put yourself forward.
Town Map and Linear Park Map– The group updated the town map displayed in the noticeboard in Aylesbury Street near William Hill and the Linear Park map displayed by the canal bridge in Watling Street. This is funded by very low cost advertising within these display boards. If you would like to advertise then please let us know. In the future the town map can be made into a fold up version for visitor use and general distribution. This requires funding. If you have ideas or would support this then please make contact.
The Cemetery Chapel – The group has been a strong driver in stopping this building from decaying further and starting refurbishment. We have found local businesses who have given time and labour. The Town Council now own the building but have to find a way to fund improvement and a sustainable use. This building will allow better lighting along the cemetery path and should become an attractive visual amenity. If you can assist with improvements then please make contact.
Information Stall – The group operates an information stall at local events and helps support local events like the Canal Festival and the Poppers Festival. The stall needs manning and we always need information to distribute. Please come and see us at events and we will be pleased to chat.
This Web-site – The group maintains this web-site. It needs information and articles. If you would like to write an article of have a local event that needs publicising then please let us know.
